Overview
Work by People is a personal initiative I created to share the stories of artists and makers across different fields. Through film, I wanted to make their work approachable and invite people to see what lies behind the steel doors of their workspaces.
I planned, filmed, and edited each story in collaboration with the person featured.
Why I started it
I’ve always been interested in connecting the world of arts with a wider audience. In a culture of quick consumption, the time, experience, and care behind a finished piece can easily go unnoticed.
Work by People began as a way to share the work behind finished creations, from objects and clothing to music and spaces.
A conversation through film
Each film started as a discovery. We entered the workshop without a fixed idea of what the final story would be, leaving space for the artist’s process and personality to guide the conversation.
After each session, I edited and produced the video around the feeling of the encounter and the story that emerged.
An exchange of stories
Work by People is also an exchange: I contribute my filmmaking skills, and the artists share the stories behind their craft.
Each artist was free to use the material in their own way, giving them a way to show their work beyond the finished piece.
